Infusing multiple genres into a generally feel good album titled Got 3
Minutes, Mike Carew has another winner on his hands.Read on for our full
analysis of the record, in addition to a background on this music
veteran. To begin, believe it or not, this is Mike Carew’s 32nd album
released of all time.
Wow! With an infinite amount of listening to do in his backlog, we’re
going to focus on his latest release, Got 3 Minutes, it’s an eclectic
blend of quirky Rock, Blues, Folk, and Country that is sure to bring
smiles to the faces of all those who listen.
Truly, we enjoyed every moment of this album and can’t wait to tell you
all about it. Originally from Quebec, Mike started his musical journey
at 12 when he started writing.
Coming in at 15 total songs, spanning right around 46 minutes in length,
Mike truly does hit the spectrum of sound in including so many different
genres throughout the listen. With that being said though, he left us
with a consistency mainly surrounding his earnest vocals and strong
storytelling chops.
Songs like “Are You Afraid”, “Just You”, and countless others are
sincere looks into his life and personal experiences. It’s honestly
incredible to think that after releasing 32 albums, with another one on
the way in October, that Mike still has the urge and creativity to keep
this up.
We’ll say it 100 times, but the cohesiveness and uplifting feeling that
Got 3 Minutes gave us is a feeling we’ll be continuing to chase. Without
a doubt we know we’ll give his discography a run through, however if
you’re reading, start off with this record.
Additionally, songs such as the title track “Got 3 Minutes” and “Been
Here Before” could be pulled off to be playlisted due to their
replayability. However the feeling this record gave us is it would be
best consumed by listening from start to finish.
You get that wholesome feeling midway through and the feel good nature
of it all comes through effortlessly.
Lastly, we’ve provided all the important links below so that you can
listen and follow along, but really, you’ve got to keep up to date with
Mike Carew because something new is always around the corner! Enjoy.
